The Thai Family Visa, also known as the Non-Immigrant O (Dependent) Visa, allows family members of foreigners working in Thailand to live legally in the country.
At Thailand Global Visa, we guide families through each step, ensuring proper documentation, eligibility verification, and smooth processing at Immigration.

Thai Family Visa — Non-Immigrant O (Dependent)

This visa allows families to stay together long-term and is available both outside the country and inside Thailand through visa conversion.

Key points:
• Ideal for families accompanying a foreigner employed in Thailand
• Children over 20 years old are not eligible unless medically dependent
• Visa can be obtained from a Thai Embassy abroad or converted at Immigration in Thailand
• Initial stay: 90 days (outside Thailand) or up to 1 year (inside Thailand)
• A re-entry permit is required for travel during the 1-year extension

At Thailand Global Visa, we assist with document preparation, translations, company paperwork coordination, and full support at Immigration.

Application Process

The application process depends on whether the visa is obtained abroad or in Thailand.

Applying Outside Thailand:
• Submit application online or in-person at a Thai Embassy/Consulate
• Processing time is usually 5–10 business days
• Pay the visa fee in local currency
• Visa issued for up to 90 days, single entry

Applying Inside Thailand:
• Families can enter with a Tourist Visa or a 30-day Exempt stamp
• Convert to Non-Immigrant O at the Thai Immigration Office in Thailand
• Bring all required documents from employer and working partner
• Processing is typically completed at Chaeng Wattana Immigration in Bangkok

Renewal Guidelines:
• Applicant must be physically in Thailand for renewals
• Renewal applications can only be submitted within 30 days before visa expiry
• Extensions inside Thailand grant up to 1 year (single entry)
